Scientific integrity
If there are indications of academic misconduct, a report can be submitted to the University’s Integrity Officers. The Integrity Officers undertake investigations ex officio or on the basis of a report. They are independent of the University’s governing bodies.
If the investigations reveal substantiated suspicions, the proceedings will be continued, otherwise the suspicion will not be pursued further. The Rector must always be notified. Once the necessary clarifications have been completed, the Integrity Officers submit a report to the University Executive Board. The University Executive Board assesses the case on the basis of the report and taking into account all relevant circumstances. Once the proceedings have been legally concluded, the University Executive Board will inform the reporting person whether academic misconduct has been confirmed.
